How it works
Entering first and applying later does not work on this route.
The temporary authorisation to stay is requested while you are still abroad. Only after it is granted do you enter Luxembourg and apply for the residence permit for salaried workers.
The long-term route opens after 5 years of residence.
Luxembourg’s EU Blue Card requires a gross annual salary of at least €65,652 and a contract of at least 6 months. Above that figure we usually file the Blue Card instead of the general permit.
