How it works
The salary test and the skill-level test both moved in July 2025. A job that passed in 2024 can fail now.
The general threshold rose from £38,700 to £41,700 on 22 July 2025; before April 2024 it was £26,200. The going rate for your occupation code can be higher, and then it is the going rate that counts.
We compare the gross salary on the offer with both figures and tell you and the sponsor in writing which one applies.
The job must sit at RQF level 6, the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree. The English requirement for new applicants on most work routes rose to B2 on 8 January 2026.
The sponsor must hold a Home Office licence and assign a certificate of sponsorship; without the certificate there is nothing to file.
Indefinite leave to remain usually follows 5 years on the route. The government consulted on a 10-year “earned settlement” baseline until 12 February 2026; it is not in the Immigration Rules on our check date, and we flag it if it changes before your 5 years run out.
We check the offer, give the sponsor a list of what the certificate must show, prepare the visa application and book biometrics. The Home Office decides; our part takes the working days in the price line.

Certificates issued before 22 July 2025 can fall under the earlier skill and salary rules.
A new sponsor means a new certificate and a new application.
Most refusals trace back to the certificate: wrong occupation code, salary under the going rate, or a job description that does not reach RQF 6.
